This Privacy Policy explains what information RetroPic ("Restore Old Photos: AI Revive", "the app", "we") collects, how we use it and what choices you have. RetroPic is developed by Oleksandr Sashchuk.

Summary

• You do not create an account. The app signs you in anonymously.
• We process the photos you choose only to restore, colorize, enhance or upscale them.
• Uploaded photos are automatically deleted from our cloud storage within 24 hours.
• Your photo history is stored only on your device.
• We do not sell your data and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

Information we process

Photos you choose

When you use a tool, the app uploads the selected photo over an encrypted connection to our cloud storage (Google Firebase Storage) and sends it to our AI processing provider (Replicate) to create the result. The app downloads the result from Replicate and saves it on your device.

Uploaded photos are automatically deleted from our cloud storage within 24 hours. Replicate holds the input and the result for a limited time under its own data retention policy. We do not use your photos to train AI models, and we do not look at them except when needed to investigate a technical problem you report to us.

App installation identifier

On first launch, the app creates a random identifier and stores it in the secure storage of your device. We use it, together with an anonymous Firebase user ID, to:

• keep track of your available credits,
• link your subscription status to the app,
• prevent abuse of free credits.

This identifier is not linked to your name, email address or phone number.

Credits and subscription information

We store your current credit balance, subscription status (for example, weekly or monthly) and related timestamps in Google Firebase Firestore. Payments are processed by Apple. We do not receive your payment card details. Subscription status is managed through RevenueCat, which receives purchase information from Apple and the app identifier described above.

Technical logs

Our servers keep standard technical logs (for example, request time, errors and file sizes) to operate and secure the service. Logs are kept for a limited time.

What stays on your device

• Your photo history (restored photos and their details).
• Your language setting and onboarding status.
• A daily reminder notification, which is scheduled locally on your device only if you have no active subscription. You can turn notifications off in iOS Settings.

Service providers

We use these providers to run the app. Each processes data only to provide its service to us:

• Google Firebase (anonymous authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions)
• Replicate (AI photo processing)
• RevenueCat (subscription management)
• Apple (App Store, payments, push and local notifications)

Sharing

We do not sell, rent or share your personal information for advertising. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the service.

Data retention

• Uploaded photos in our cloud storage: deleted automatically within 24 hours.
• Inputs and results at Replicate: kept for a limited time under Replicate's retention policy.
• Credit and subscription records: kept while you use the app and as long as needed for accounting and to prevent abuse.
• On-device data: kept until you delete the app.

Your choices and rights

• You can delete your photo history by deleting the app. Photos you saved to your Photos library stay there until you delete them.
• You can cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID settings.
• You can ask us to access or delete the data linked to your installation. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, UK or California), you may have additional rights under local law. Contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

RetroPic is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and uploaded files are deleted within 24 hours. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Changes

We may update this policy. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we will provide notice in the app or on this website.
